Armand Z'ail paced outside the office of his mother, Darth Tradimento. In an effort to contribute - both to his family, and to the war - he proposed a daring and potentially damning bit of a gamble.
The destruction of a civilian transport.
After what felt like an eternity to the young sith the door opened, a handful of admirals leaving the chamber. Once vacant, Armand moved into the room, the door closing behind him.
His mother, a tall woman with black hair and silver streaks through it, was intimidating to him. Even now.
"Take a seat," she said firmly, blood-red eyes fixed on him. He preferred her black eyes, they were a bit less striking.
Armand eased himself into the chair, drumming his fingers on the arm. "Well, is this going to go or not?"
"The others are inclined to agree with you. Honestly I'm pleased to see someone in this family has the stones to make such a suggestion. Your father used to but the worthless worm is more concerned with military victories and countering the Jedi than he is in sending the Republic a message. Take a shuttle to his ship and proceed directly to the Republic Transit Hub in the Corellia system."
Armand smiled, standing before bowing before her. He strode back towards the door.
"My son?" his mother's voice was sweet, and soft. The change in tone sent a chill down Armand's spine.
"Yes?"
"Fuck this up, and if the Republic doesn't kill you, I will. Painfully slowly. Dismissed."
Armand nodded, and left immediately for the transport.

The transit to the Imperial Dreadnaught Tenacity was quiet for Armand. The shuttle was comfortable, compact, but far more functional than luxurious.
His father arrived to greet him when he landed, flowing red robes around him.
"For the record, Armand, what you're doing is incredibly stupid. We have far more pressing matters we could be attending to than this," he said as the two walked between Imperial soldiers standing in formation.
"Yes, father, but if this goes well this will let the Empire seize initative. The Jedi will be unable to 'let this go' and have to hunt me."
The elder man nodded. "As I said. Stupid. Mission briefing in one hour as we transit through Hyperspace. You know your part and have your team, but I'll be the one getting you there, so we do this my way. Are we clear?"
Armand couldn't help but grin. "Yes, father."

Armand and the other two members of his team sat in the conference lounge waiting for the briefing to begin. The others complimented him neatly, he thought. The first, a human woman with red hair and a cybernetic right eye was one of his assault specialists. He hadn't met many non-Sith who had her level of aggression and calm under fire. She called herself "Spider."
The second, and one he worried about in terms of performance, was his tech expert. A blue-haired chiss male called "Slicer Five." Armand didn't know his real name, and quite honestly, didn't care to. His expertise was required here but his panic under pressure wasn't.
Finally his father strode into the chamber, pulling his hood back. His corruption seemed to grace his appearance more than harm it, pale skin offset by brown hair and red eyes, violet crackles of power weaving about his features. Armand was eternally thankful he looked far more like him than his mother.
"The Tenacity will drop out of hyperspace less than 25,000 km from one of the moons, deploy your shuttle, and return to hyperspace inside of two minutes. Everything must be coordinated for this to work, and the Tenacity cannot remain in-system any longer than that. Sensors and ships in the system run the risk of responding to us, and this plan requires suprise. Once deployed, your mission is your own, but when you are complete you can meet up with us in Hutt space, near Voss."
Armand nodded, "Long way to go if we need help."
"If your mother was here she would no doubt have some spiteful remark to make to you for it but I for one understand how much more powerful we are working in concert. See that you finish this. Questions?"
The team shook their heads. "We'll be arriving before you know it... get some sleep, and be ready," was all he said before turning on his heels and leaving.
