Lord Iris Strife as she is now known was born on Iridona, the Zabrak homeworld. Her militant upbringing formed her into a soldier. Self confidence and a hardened frame, nominal traits for Zabraks, were especially present in her -- as she advanced through the Iridonian mercenary militia "The Dark Ones" quickly. Her natural soldiering talent brought her success in many campaigns that the Dark Ones fought across the galaxy.
During the blockade of the Hydian Way, the Dark Ones were hired to man marine forces on the smuggler ships attempting to break the blockade. The vessel she was aboard, the Mischievous Maiden, was one of the first craft to engage the Mandalorian ships -- and one of the first to fall. Her craft fell to the planet Bandomeer, which at the time was being scouted by Imperial forces looking to control the great resources of the planet.
The surviving Dark Ones marines and crew of the Mischievous Maiden encountered these forces and being unknown to the Imperials, were engaged by scout troopers. During the ensuing battle, heavy losses were sustained to the remaining Dark Ones, while all of the crew members met their deaths. However, the Imperial forces were repulsed, and Iris and her fellow mercenaries were able to go into hiding.
Unable to leave the planet and necessary supplies sparse, Iris and the Dark Ones raided the Imperial forces in guerrilla actions against their forward scouting bases. The hardened Dark Ones took to this well, killing many Imperials and robbing them of weapons, food, and other resources -- while at the same time hampering their efforts to scout the planets mineral resources.
The Imperials, thinking Republic forces had dispatched special forces to the planet to thwart their plans, sent a Sith Warrior to the planet to deal with this new threat. When the Sith discovered the Dark Ones raiding a forward operating base, they were killed to the man -- except Iris herself -- who was offered a simple deal: join us or die.
The Sith, detecting the latent Force sensitivity in Iris during the battle, decided to take Iris on as his apprentice. She was soon brought to Korriban to receive training in the Dark Arts. Where she mastered the basic skills of lightsaber combat and channeling her rage through the power of the Force to defeat her foes.
Apprentice Iris excelled at the tasked placed before her by her Master. The hunting down and capturing of renegade Sith and troublesome Jedi, the destruction of rebel movements on wayward planets, and the occasional ransacking of Republic bases. Until her master died at the hands of the Dark Council. She was summoned before them, unaware of the reason behind his demise -- expecting the same treatment as she knelt before them.
Unexpectedly, they released her from the servitude from her former Master, and promoted her to the rank of Lord. Simply stating that she will, "have use" in future events. They dismissed her with no more than a farewell. Bewildered, Lord Iris fell into what she knew best: the destruction and creation of insurgencies across the galaxy.
Lord Iris seemed found this so rewarding -- after one day on Ord Mantell, after she had arranged the death of a 12 member separatist Council on the mainland of the continent; and sending their remaining forces into a pitched battle against other separatist troops (which were not unsubstantial): she commanded her followers to refer to her as Lord Strife from that moment onward.
However it seemed that she was destined to be more than just the curator of conflict across the galaxy. One day on Alderaan she encountered Raike and Zail -- finding the pair amidst recruiting for their organization, the Onyx Claw. Seeking to join another to the organization she was part of at the time, she found it proper to roundly insult the pair in front of the 3rd party. Outmatched and outwitted by the two, she left the cantina empty handed. The female sniper leaving the Cantina in the property of the Onyx Claw.
Later, on Hoth, after disposing herself of her third Apprentice -- she was in search of guidance. Having heard that Zail had ascended to the Dark Council, with his new rank of Darth, she attempted to find meaning in recent events by consulting the Dark One. Finding wisdom in him and meaning in his teachings, she sought to join him in his organization.
Finding her place in the Onyx Claw was perhaps one of the easiest things Iris has ever done. Being placed in charge of a capital-generation segment for his Army, Lord Strife began to scour the galaxy for Lieutenants and slaves.
Following the beginning of Lord Strife's reign in the Onyx Claw -- as the Commander of Executive Finances -- Darth Zail found her to grow too powerful too quickly. He decided to clamp down on this by drafting Iris into the Army, under his head. Iris accepted this position, but desired to also assist the military in more useful ways -- by applying her own might to the strength of the 2nd Battalion. She spoke to Darth Raike, in charge of this frontline group, and she accepted her into her own ranks...
